Mughals ruled many provinces of Uttar Pradesh for more than two centuries, a great impact of which can be seen in its art and craft. Even today it is home to a few unique handiworks which are famous across the world. Famous Crafts found in Uttar Pradesh are:

• Handlooms and Embroideries – Chikankari Embroidery, Zardosi Embroidery, Zar Buland Embroidery, Benarasi Silk Saris, Chiffon Saris, Muslin Cloth weaving, Carpet Weaving and more.
• Attar / Ittar (Perfume) – It is made from various aromatic herbs, spices, sandal oil, musk, essence of flowers, and leaves. Kannauj in UP is the perfume capital of India.
• Jewelry & Enamel Work – Silverware with patterns of hunting scenes, snakes and roses. The Bidri and Zarbuland silver works have fine embroidery on pieces of huqqa farshi, jewel boxes, trays, bowls, cufflinks, cigarette holders, and more. Renowned ivory and bone carvings with motifs of flowers, leaves, creepers, trees, birds and animals are widely produced. The master craftsmen create intricate items like knives, lampshades, shirt pins and small toys.

• Pottery – Glazed pottery with white background and blue and green patterns, Chunar black clay pottery is inlaid with silver paint in intricate designs.
