Haryana, being an agricultural state, has simple crafts like pottery, embroidery and weaving. Haryana’s sculptures and murals have influence of the Persian and Mughal styles. Phulkari art, which showcases different motifs of humans, birds, flowers, stitched on colourful cloth are famous worldwide. Bagh, a colourful art done on khaddar, depicts designs of elephants, the sun, the moon, crops, houses and much more, done on coarse cotton cloth with thick threads. Panipat is famous for its handloom.Haryana is famous for Mudhas (round woven stools) and chairs made of sarkanda (a reed). The clay pitchers from Jhajjar are famous as they give a sweet taste to the water stored in them. The other crafts of Haryana are Chope (Shawl), Dhurries, Paintings and theatre.
