The Bastar art from the Bastar region is a unique traditional tribal art which includes bamboo, wood, soil and metal art used to make statues and decorations. The antique statues made in Bastar are famous amongst craft lovers worldwide. Godna is a tattoo art practiced by women of the Baiga tribe which is done by piercing the body with needles. The other crafts of this region include bamboo work, wood carvings, paintings and jewellery. The terracotta pottery endowed with different shapes and forms represent the tribal rituals and customs of the state. Chattisgarh is also known for its ‘Kosa silk’ and wax art.
